Yeehaw from the Happys! Asher Alexander, Sam Bolton, Paige Currin, Will Hammond, Grayson Lynch, Nate McGowan, Emma Shokes, Ansley Grace Still, J. Strom Thurmond, Logan Tuck, Leah Wood, and Ashton Woodruff
This morning we were given the privilege to sleep in until a whopping 6:45, thanks to a car alarm going off right next to our campground. We began our rootin’ tootin’ day in Cody, Wyoming by cleaning all of our dirty, stinky clothes. The counselors put out the phones all morning and we chilled as we ate some yummy bagels with condiments. This morning was a much more relaxing morning than usual, once we cleaned our clothes we all sat and talked, and some even gambled “cough John.” Some people made the interesting decision to not clean their clothes and sleep in. It's Kack's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KACK! Many poker games later and Leah falling down 8 times, it was time for lunch. Some people went to Dairy Queen across the street, while others ate the delicious nachos cooked by the sleepys, who made a walmart run while people were chilling. At 1 o’ clock all of TWB loaded up onto buses and headed to the Shoshone river to go white water rafting. During our high speed rafting trip in the frigid 48*F water, several water fights broke out resulting in shivering participants and possible frostbite. Other events that occurred on the river was Leah and Patrick’s rafts breaking out into song mid-adventure. The view while rafting was incredible. It was like we were in a mini grand canyon. The view might have been cool, but the smell of rotten eggs coming out of the nearby hot springs stung our noses. Before we had to leave the river, the guides allowed us to jump in the river which was a major mistake due to the coldness, but we made great memories.
After the adventure, we headed back to the campground to prepare for the rodeo. Most of us took showers and Evan, Christian, Strom, and Patrick cut their jeans into jorts (sorry moms!) Strom may have cut his a tad too short. We then ate a scrumptious hotdog, beans, and corn dinner with “raw” s’mores as dessert. After dinner, we all loaded up into the buses and vans and headed into downtown Cody. Most of us bought cowboy hats, but Thomas and Tate bought full cowboy and cowgirl outfits. The same guys who cut their jeans also bought flannels to match at the Rodeo. After touring the town and buying expensive mixed sodas, we then drove to the Rodeo. At the Rodeo, we all sat and watched the cowboys and cowgirls try to not get bucked off, run around barrels on horses, and watched the cowboys embarrass themselves with interesting humor. Lots of us then went to ride the mechanical bull, and Mallory, Abby, and Ashton went on the field for the 12 and under jr. rodeo competition. After the rodeo, we all drove to Dairy Queen to eat some scrumptious ice cream and type the blog. Now we get to sleep under the Ponderosa flashing sign. Peace out- Happys
