Day 15: Salt Lake City and Bear Lake
Today started off as a good day. The counselors let us sleep in until a whopping 8:15am. Due to the wonderful holiday of Pioneer Day, we were able to listen to lovely Mormon remixes when we woke up. As we packed up, we were given cinnamon rolls and peaches for breakfast before we left to go to Mormon Temple Square. In Temple Square, we were given a wonderful tour of Mormonism and the amazing historic buildings. We saw their beautiful temples and holy sites, which was very interesting. We also were able to ask questions about their religion, which fascinated many in our groups. Everyone headed over to the City Creek Center after, which is a gorgeous outdoor mall (and Utah’s largest!). We were so excited to get Chick-fil-A for lunch!!! Abby even said, “this is the happiest day of my life!”Lucky us, we were blessed with an apple store in the mall!!! Many facetimed family members while in the apple store. At one point the whole Apple store was taken over by TWBers. Others shopped around the stores in the mall, such as Forever 21 (they had a great sale…sorry mom and dad!), H&M and Zumiez.
If you couldn't tell, Grant hasn't brushed his teeth at all during the trip.

WE LOVE THE APPLE STORE |
Around 1:15 we started our drive to the Walmart to get food for the next couple days and then headed to Bear Lake to Camp for the night. While driving, the kids in the Carolina Girl van had fun singing and motioning to truckers to honk their horn (they went 8/10!) Meanwhile intense chess matches were being played on the bus. Bear lake was gorgeous with clear blue waters and a mountain overlook. The lake was much bigger than we thought it would be, and sadly the smokey skies covered some of its mountain views. The Dopey group cooked up some scrumptious quesadillas with chips and salsa for dinner. After we ate, we all headed down to Bear Lake for a water-balloon toss competition and swim. Sneezys were the winners thanks to Thomas and Evan B. Some of us even decided to shower down there! Unfortunately, we didn’t see any swimming bears :). After our refreshing swim, we came back to our campsite for a sing-a-long. Camille spilled purple juice all over her white shorts.
